So he confronted, may Allah have mercy upon him, these groups.
A · غير محدد
And he confronted the group of the Jahmiyyah and the Muʿtazilah, and whoever
A · غير محدد
inclined toward their way regarding the Names and the Attributes.
A · غير محدد
So he clarified for them and made clear the truth which the righteous Salaf were upon concerning
A · غير محدد
the Names of Allah and His Attributes. And he authored concerning that, taught, and debated, until
A · غير محدد
indeed they gathered against him and united against him, and complained against him to
A · غير محدد
those in authority. So he was imprisoned several times. Then indeed they debated him, so he prevailed
A · غير محدد
over them and refuted what they had of doubts, so he did not find any refuge
A · غير محدد
except resorting to the authority.
A · غير محدد
So they imprisoned him. And he used to be occupied, whether in his prison or outside the prison.
A · غير محدد
And because of this he says: What can
A · غير محدد
my enemies do to me? Their expelling me is tourism, and their imprisoning me is seclusion with my Lord. And he was, may Allah have mercy upon him, saying
A · غير محدد
also: What can my enemies do to me? I am; my Paradise is in my chest.
A · غير محدد
So he was, may Allah have mercy upon him, occupied while he was in prison, writing and authoring
A · غير محدد
and giving Fatwā while he was in prison, to the extent that when they saw
A · غير محدد
that he would not desist from spreading knowledge while he was in prison,
A · غير محدد
they took out what he had of papers and pens, so he began writing
A · غير محدد
with charcoal on the walls,
A · غير محدد
due to his devotion and his intense attachment to spreading knowledge. Then also he addressed
A · غير محدد
the Sufis and the people of superstitions, and he refuted them and clarified
A · غير محدد
their ecstatic utterances, and he clarified their mistakes, and he made clear to them the correct path.
A · غير محدد
Then also, he addressed the scholars of Kalām and the scholars of logic.
A · غير محدد
So he refuted them, and he clarified the error of their methodology in deduction, and he authored concerning
A · غير محدد
that huge books, such as Darʾ Taʿāruḍ al-ʿAql wa-l-Naql, and such as Bayān
A · غير محدد
Talbīs al-Jahmiyyah in his refutation of al-Rāzī. And these are huge books
A · غير محدد
and printed. He refuted the Christians who cast doubts upon the Muslims.
A · غير محدد
So he authored the book Al-Jawāb al-Ṣaḥīḥ — the book Al-Jawāb al-Ṣaḥīḥ
A · غير محدد
li-Man Baddala Dīn al-Masīḥ. He refuted them, and he silenced them, and he refuted
A · غير محدد
the Shīʿah and the Muʿtazilah in his famous book Minhāj al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyyah fī
A · غير محدد
Naqḍ Kalām al-Shīʿah wa-l-Qadariyyah, or with other names. And it is a book
A · غير محدد
great, and printed, and circulated.
