And may Allah send peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muḥammad, and upon his family and his Companions,

all together. As for what follows: then from the mercy of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is that He

sends for this Ummah, at the head of every one hundred years, one who

renews for it its religion, as that came in the authentic ḥadīth.

From the Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. And the confirmation occurred

of what he informed of, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. So Allah bestowed favor upon
A · غير محدد
this Ummah with a number of the Imāms, the renewers,
A · غير محدد
upon the succession of the eras.

The affair was, among Banī Isrāʾīl, as came in the ḥadīth,
A · غير محدد
that the Prophets used to govern them; whenever a Prophet died, a Prophet succeeded him,
A · غير محدد
another. As for this Muḥammadan Ummah, when Muḥammad, may Allah's peace
A · غير محدد
and blessings be upon him, was the Seal of the Prophets,
A · غير محدد
there is no Prophet after him, then Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, made the scholars
A · غير محدد
stand in the place of the Prophets among Banī Isrāʾīl, in calling to
A · غير محدد
Allah and conveying this religion to mankind,
A · غير محدد
and renewing this religion from what attaches to it of Bidʿahs and superstitions

and newly invented matters.
