al-Shām, from Palestine, and Ashʿariyyah was widespread, so they would return with the ʿAqīdah

of Ashʿariyyah, along with what they obtained of Fiqh. And grave-worship

and Bidʿahs and superstitions, in the desert and the settled towns in the lands of Najd, were a thing

abundant, a thing exceeding calculation.

So this Imām stood up, and he gave concern to the books of Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah,

and the books of his student Ibn al-Qayyim; he would read them and summarize from them,

and author upon their light, and call to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, until

the Daʿwah arose in the lands of Najd upon the pattern of the Daʿwah of the Imām,

Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah. He graduated upon his books and upon his methodology

in calling to Allah. And Ibn Taymiyyah was upon the methodology of the Salaf,
